This Tranquil Field of Slumber
soldiers afield
ripped from their
mother’s arms
into the devils contest
fields of slaughter
amidst mayhem of cannon fodder
amidst lead firestorms
awaiting the very possible
the probable, quenching
of life and breath
thank you
for your sacrifice
