Land the Gods Smiled Upon

Tuscany by DC Lessoway

Out for a walk through
la valle d’oro
a breeze warms the skin
welcoming a bouquet
of endless vineyards
there, a flash of fur
rabbits beneath pregnant fruit
how they jump on the fallen, consume
then are gone

in the growing distance
cannot deny this
imbued tranquility
issues, complications, plights
across ocean flung
leaving me but a shell
only eyes, skin and sensation
